Rooted in Scripture
What We Believe
Pure Gospel Fellowship is part of the Foursquare Gospel family. We hold to historic Christian faith and proclaim Jesus Christ as Saviour, Baptizer with the Holy Spirit, Healer and Coming King.
The Bible
We believe the Holy Scriptures are inspired by God and are our trustworthy guide for faith and life (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
The Triune God
We believe in one true and living God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 13:14).
Jesus Christ and Salvation
We believe humanity is separated from God by sin, that Jesus Christ died for us and rose again, and that salvation is God’s gift received through repentance and faith in Christ (John 3:16; Romans 5:8; Ephesians 2:8).
The New Birth and Christian Life
We believe those who receive Christ are made new and are called to grow daily in holiness, faith, love, prayer and service (2 Corinthians 5:17; Hebrews 6:1).
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit empowers believers, gives spiritual gifts and produces Christlike fruit in their lives (Acts 2:4; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11; Galatians 5:22-25).
Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
We believe in water baptism by immersion as an outward sign of an inward work, and we commemorate the Lord’s Supper with bread and the fruit of the vine (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4; 1 Corinthians 11:24-25).
Divine Healing
We believe Christ heals the sick in answer to prayer offered in faith (James 5:14-16).
The Church and Its Mission
We believe followers of Jesus should gather regularly, serve one another, share the Gospel and make disciples of all nations (Hebrews 10:24-25; Matthew 28:19-20).
Christ’s Return and Eternity
We believe Jesus Christ will return, every person will stand before God, and those who belong to Christ will live with Him forever (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; 2 Corinthians 5:10; John 14:1-3).
Faithful Stewardship
We believe tithes and offerings support the work of ministry and the spread of the Gospel, and that God calls us to give willingly and cheerfully (Malachi 3:10; 2 Corinthians 9:7).
In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; and in all things, charity.
